The Alaska Arts Education Consortium (AAEC) is an affiliation of school districts, organizations and individuals committed to preparing and supporting educators so that they can teach the arts across the curriculum. AAEC is a member of the Kennedy Center Arts Education Alliance.

Our mission is to promote high achievement for all Alaskan students in and through the arts by:

  • Creating and sustaining communication networks
  • Initiating and strengthening community partnerships
  • Preparing and supporting educators through professional development.

Teachers Leader for 2016

 2016 Arts Institutes–Interested in being a Teacher Leader The Alaska Arts Education Consortium welcomes applications for Art Teacher Leaders to instruct at one of our 2016 summer art learning opportunities for K-12 teachers.  We are still determining what institutes will be scheduled, so watch this site in November and early December for applications. Each summer, AAEC assembles a team of skilled artists and educators to train and support a cadre of classroom teachers and other educators. Our goal is to provide them with a unique opportunity to develop and expand their local arts education programs and to learn new ways of integrating the arts across the curriculum.
