Three credit 500 level class available through UAF
including Multicultural endorsement

This 5-day Institute revolves around both inter-cultural and multicultural education—the philosophy that recognizes the role teachers and schools can play in developing culturally inclusive attitudes and values necessary for a democratic society.

Working with multiple teacher-leaders participants will use the arts as a venue through which to recognize and understand our own culture first and throughout the week consider and apply ways that we can transform classrooms in positive ways.

Teacher-leaders are:

  • Helen Mongan-Rallis, Theory
  • Megan Henry,Visual Art
  • Sarah Greenlaw, Movement
  • TBA, Culture

Registration is $249 for teachers from member districts and $349 for those from non-member districts.  Cancellation is requested within 30 days or a $50 fee will be charged.

For out-of-town attendees housing will be available through the University of Alaska Fairbanks.  More information will be provided soon.
