Celebrate Nature and Place with Acrylic Painting

Artist Kristin Link will share a project in progress making collaborative murals with seven different schools across Alaska for the Future Teacher Space at UAF. She’ll talk about celebrating place with community art and the process of making a mural. Then we will get to make our own landscape paintings working with acrylic paints.

Materials:
  • Acrylic paint in primary colors (yellow, red, blue), white, and black. If you have green, brown, orange, and violet they can be nice to have as well.
  • Mixed media or heavyweight paper primed with gesso or a small canvas
  • Round brushes in various sizes, I like to have one medium (8) and one small (2). Use what you have though!
  • Water, paper towel/ rag
  • Pencil

Member Districts include: Alaska Gateway, Anchorage, Annette Island, Bering Strait, Bristol Bay, Copper River, Fairbanks, Haines, Juneau, Kenai, Ketchikan, Kodiak, Lower Kuskokwim,  Mt. Edgecumbe, North Slope, Northwest Arctic, Sitka, Yukon Koyukuk
