The Alaska Arts Education Consortium may have to cancel this institute but will hold off until May 6th to decide…
Arts education is SEL education.
Through the arts we recognize our:
- feelings & thoughts
- strengths and limitations
- uniquesness and that of others
- resiliency when learning
The arts can have a profound impact on the social emotional health of your students. Social Emotional Learning education helps increase self-awareness and thus develops positive behaviors in and out of the classroom. It also helps young people grow into confident, caring citizens who are better equipped to later navigate the pressures of adult life.
Join this SEL institute, get immersed in arts and culture, and develop the knowledge and skills to benefit your classroom & curriculum.
